Chandler Arizona Ostrich Enamel Pin
Chandler Arizona Ostrich Enamel Pin
Chandler was founded in 1912 by Dr. A.J. Chandler who was a veterinary surgeon for Arizona. Dr. Chandler decided to use some of his land to raise Ostriches whose feathers were used in women's fashion. Ostrich feathers used to sell for $250 per pound. As women's fashion changed, so did Dr. Chandler's farm, but the annual ostrich festival in Chandler is a chance to look back to the start of the city.
